BY LAWS (NDM – 2009)

Board of Coordinators
I.   Board members will be chosen through a nomination and election process. Nominees will be selected from members that have been with the organization for a period of a year and have shown leadership qualities.
II.   Board positions will last a term of two years. A maximum number of three terms can be served out by any coordinator.
III.   For strategic reasons leadership (coordinator) positions will be open to only Nigerians, irrespective of places of residence. However non-Nigerians can be consultants to specific committees.
IV.   Each person aspiring to a position of leadership must give reasons why they are the most suitable person for the position they are aspiring for, and also be able to share a clear vision for the period they will occupy that position.

Board meetings
•   Any coordinator can call for a meeting, until a specific date and time has been picked.
•   A minimum of two coordinators are required to start a board meeting.
•   For major decisions like selection of projects, all members of the board must be available to vote.

Committees
   Members can be involved in more than one committee.
   Each committee has a coordinator, who is also a member of the board. If the committee sees fit and when needed, additional coordinator can be selected in the individual committee.
   Number of committees available can be altered by variation in demands based on need and availability of projects.

Project Strategy
a)   Project proposals shall keep in line with the overall aim of the movement.
b)   Project proposals from members shall be turned in to the committee coordinator.
c)   Each project proposal will be reviewed by the board of coordinators and decision will be made.
d)   A complete report shall be presented to all members of the organization, which will include, the project proposal, the decision about the project, etc.
e)   Projects will be worked on as a group. Different committees shall work together on major projects.

Finances
1.   The movement will receive donations from well-wishers, both Nigerians and Friends of Nigeria.
2.   A complete breakdown in expenditure of funds will be disclosed to all members.
3.   At any point in time the total amount of funding available can be requested by any member.
4.   Financial activity and movement and expenditure of funds will be made transparent. A balanced sheet will be posted on the website, where members can log in and review.
5.   The movement will organize different events to raise funds, to include but not limited to, marathons, tree-planting rallies, walk-a-thons, etc.
6.   The movement will apply for appropriate grants from local agencies and corporate bodies in Nigeria and overseas who share our vision for Nigeria.

I just discovered that a new party has been launched in Nigeria with the name NDM. The full meaning of the new NDM is National Democratic Movement [NDM]. I can remember I told members of this movement that our plans could be hijacked by Nigerian politicians. This new NDM is made up of big politicians in Nigeria including Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Rtd General Muhammadu Buhari, Aliyu Bafarawa and many southern and eastern politicians. People are watching us. Thanks.

That should not be a deterrent, I assume it's just a coincidence.Don't get carried away, those people you mentioned care less about what people like us think or do.Where is everybody on this forum by the way?

welcome, thanks for coming on board.

@Redman,
we are fully aware of the new situation and we will be having a general meeting soon when steps we have taken as a result of that action will be outlined. Thanks very much for mentioning it.
